Support the Town of Branford and Sign Up for Renewable Energy!
In March 2006, the Branford RTM passed a resolution directing the town to join the CT Clean Energy Fund's Clean Energy Communities program, in which local governments support clean renewable energy for 20% of their municipal electricity purchases, and to appoint a Clean Energy Task Force. The Task Force investigates options for meeting the 20% goal, such as on-site renewable generation, energy efficiency, and Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), and encourages residents and businesses to enroll in the CT-Clean-Energy-Options program. Each residential or business enrollment earns the Town points toward FREE solar photovoltaic energy systems. A 7kW PV solar array was given free to the Town due to past enrollment, and is currently installed and generating power on the Branford High School roof. Additionally, the Task Force distributes grant money for local clean energy awareness projects. Please contact us for more info.
